Bill Faruki is a Pakistani-American United States Army veteran, technology entrepreneur, software architect and inventor whose work spans electronic trading, enterprise software and Agentic AI. He is the founder and CEO of MindHYVE.ai, Inc., the founder of Neotick (now DV8 Infosystems), and the founder and chairman of the California Institute of Artificial Intelligence (CIAI).

Born and raised in Karachi, he moved to the United States in 1991 and served in the U.S. Army from 1992 to 1995 as a field artilleryman at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He left university to pursue entrepreneurship and taught himself to program, starting from a practical problem: giving brokerage customers better electronic access to markets. He went on to lead LimitUp Trading, where he built the LOGIX futures matching engine, to serve as CTO of Daniels Trading and as a principal architect at a Microsoft subsidiary, and to found Neotick, whose Neo family of trading and infrastructure products included a three-dimensional trading workstation and a reliable multicast messaging bus.

In 2022 he founded HYVE Labs to research intelligence assembled from cooperating models with different cognitive roles. That work became MindHYVE.ai, incorporated in July 2024 and headquartered in Newport Beach, California, with teams in Islamabad and Nairobi. He is the architect of the Eve-Genesis synthetic reasoning corpus and the Eve-Fusion compound architecture behind ArthurAI, ChironAI, JustineAI, TheoAI, EliAI and SageOps, and developed with his team the computational approach behind the Islamic Primary Source Corpus. His design principle is bounded agency: software performs cognitive work inside a defined workflow while a qualified professional keeps authority over consequential outputs.

He speaks and writes about wider access to expertise, AI fluency and human judgment. His engagements include the ITU AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, the East African Community Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Conference in Kigali, the Connected Africa Summit and the Africa Premier AI Conference in Kenya, APAIC Arusha, and lectures at Dow University of Health Sciences, Istanbul Medipol University and the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute. He was co-chair of the Pakistan American Tech Council at its formation and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kenya ICT Action Network to support the development of Kenya’s national AI policy. His writing includes the AI Practitioner Lexicon and HYVE Labs research papers.

He lives in Newport Beach with his wife, Maliha Hasan-Faruki, and their four children.
